The “Juiceman” Award was founded in 2005 in honor of Steve “Juiceman” Dorich, who for many years generously and unselfishly gave of himself to help enrich the basketball experience of Madonna athletes. Steve gave of himself to help nurture and develop our athletes into respectful, well-mannered young gentlemen, something we pride ourselves on to this day. The recipient of this award exemplifies the character, dedication, and passion for Madonna, its athletic programs, and its mission, which Steve so graciously and faithfully demonstrated.

Last night, two worthy recipients received the “Juiceman” Award for meeting and even exceeding all the qualities Steve portrayed. While neither are homegrown Madonnians, both have embraced every aspect of Madonna and being a Blue Don.

Nathan Mazur has been a boys basketball assistant since 2015. His wife, Julie, is a Madonna alum along with their three children: Melany ‘12, Nick ‘15, and Dom ‘19. He helps coach, manage film, and is the voice of Madonna boys basketball home games.

Cory Wingett began as an assistant coach on the girls basketball team and now leads the helm for the Lady Dons. His wife, Lisa, and oldest daughter, Julia, are Madonna alumni, Ella will be graduating this year and Luke is in 8th grade. When he is not coaching, he can be found at just about every Madonna event and game and he is most likely lending a helping hand.

Congratulations to Nate and Cory! We thank you for your dedication and selflessness in your service to Madonna High School!
