Mr. Jeffrey Robinson, a member of the Weirton Madonna High School Class of 1995, will be the guest speaker at Commencement scheduled for Saturday, May 25, at Finnegan Fieldhouse located on the campus of Franciscan University of Steubenville.

 

Mr. Robinson, son of the late Charles Robinson and Donna Robinson of Weirton, and brother to Jason Robinson (Madonna Class of 1997) and Jared Robinson (Madonna Class of 2001), currently serves as the Vice President and General Counsel of The Hillman Company in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.  He lives in Canonsburg, Pennsylvania with his wife, Ashley Robinson, and their two daughters, Brynlee and Delaney.

 

During his time at Madonna, Jeff excelled academically as the Valedictorian, and was a member of the National Honor Society. He was also the President and a founding member of the Interact Club. Jeff participated in the American Legion Mountaineer Boys State, served on the Diocesan Youth Board, and was actively involved in various clubs and organizations. In sports, he lettered in soccer and basketball, achieving All-OVAC in both. He represented Madonna in the OVAC All-Star Basketball Game. Jeff dedicated his time to volunteering at St. Paul Catholic Church, Boys and Girls Club, and served as a youth soccer and basketball coach.

 

After graduating from high school, Jeff continued his academic success, graduating Summa Cum Laude from West Virginia University School of Engineering with a B.S. in Industrial and Management Systems Engineering. He was awarded the Presidential Scholarship as the top student in the Engineering School. Following his undergraduate studies, Jeff worked at IBM Global Services for a year before pursuing his legal education at the University of Pittsburgh School of Law. There, he again graduated Summa Cum Laude, earning the Dean’s Scholarship and a spot on the Law Review.  Jeff later earned his LLM in Taxation from New York University School of Law.

 

During his tenure at a large international law firm, a Fortune 500 company, and The Hillman Company, Jeff has accumulated extensive expertise in various corporate matters. Currently, he oversees and manages the provision of legal services to The Hillman Company, a family office and investment adviser for the Hillman family and its stakeholders, including the philanthropic arm of the family, Hillman Family Foundations.

 

Beyond his professional endeavors, Jeff is deeply involved in his community. He coaches youth soccer and basketball and volunteers at his daughters’ schools. Alongside his wife, he is a dedicated fundraiser for JDRF, a nonprofit committed to funding research for Type 1 Diabetes, a condition affecting their daughter. Through their efforts in organizing events, raising awareness, and mobilizing community support, they have collectively raised over $300,000 to enhance treatments and advance toward a cure.
