Faculty member Ms. Jean Shotting will be recognized at the  Bishop’s Dinner for Catholic Schools on Sunday, April 2,   with the Diocesan Silver Apple award.  This award is given to a  exemplary teacher in each school in the diocese and is being given to Ms. Shotting because of her exceptional teaching at Madonna High School.

Ms. Shotting is a native of Pittsburgh, Pa.  A graduate of Moon Area High School, she attended the Pennsylvania State University for two years before transferring to the University of Steubenville, where she obtained an undergraduate degree in English/Theology and a Master’s degree in Business Administration.  After completing her student teaching experience and obtaining her teaching certificate, Ms. Shotting was offered a full-time position at Madonna High School.  She taught both English and religion for several years.  Currently, Ms. Shotting teaches Honors English I, English II, Honors English II, and Honors English III at Madonna High School.
