Madonna High School announces that Dr. Ronald Gino Cercone M.D., F.A.C.S., will be the 2017 Commencement Speaker.

Commencement  for forty-one  graduating seniors will be held on Sunday, May 21, at 2:00 pm at St. Joseph the Worker Church.   The Baccalaureate Mass will be held on Saturday, May 20, at 6:00 pm at St. Joseph the Worker  Church.

Dr. Cercone  was born on April 20, 1955, in Steubenville, Ohio to Gino and Jennie Cercone of Follansbee West Virginia.  He has two brothers,  Dr. David Cercone and Steven Cercone and attended St. Anthony’s School, Follansbee from 1961-1969.  Dr. Cercone graduated from Madonna High School, Class of 1973.  He graduated from West Virginia University College of Arts and Sciences 1977 with a B.S. in Biology and went on to receive his M.D. from West Virginia University School of Medicine in 1981.

Dr. Cercone completed his Surgery Residency at the Mercy Hospital of Pittsburgh 1981-1983;  Urologic Residency at the West Virginia University School of Medicine 1983-1985 and was the Chief Urology Resident, West Virginia University School of Medicine 1985-1986.

Dr. Cercone is Board Certified in Urology, and a Member of the American College of Surgeons. He began private practice in Pittsburgh in 1986 with Altman and McCague, which thru merger became Three Rivers Urology, and was there until 2014. He then joined UPMC Department of Urology, in 2014 to the present, as UPMC Three Rivers Urology, located in Wexford, Pa.

Dr. Cercone has been married since 1989 to the former Joan Marie Talerico of Pittsburgh, Pa. and is the father of  Dr. Dominic J. Cercone and Gina M. Cercone.  They are members of Saints John & Paul Parish, Wexford Pa.
