IMGP3014Mr. John Colabrese’s  AP Environmental Science class recently held a mock trial based upon the lesson they were learning about the dangers of logging.  The class was given a scenario of a logging company, “Logs-R-Us”, that wanted to cut down a forest in the fabricated town of Pineville, California.  The forest was home to a Native American tribe and was a major outdoor activity tourist attraction.  The plaintiffs were trying to protect IMG_6713the forest from deforestation; the defendants argued that their logging methods would be sustainable and safe for the animals, Native Americans, and the tourism business.  In the end the jury members decided in favor of the plaintiffs, saving the forest from any type of logging.  Reported by Mariah Mott and Gabrielle Sellitti.
