picture resizedThe 2014 Catholic Daughters of the Americas Education Contest Winners for the local round have been announced and includes the following Madonna students: Freshman James Mazzone, Essay, First Place; Senior Michael Rogers, Poetry, First Place; Junior Shelby DiBacco, Poetry, Second Place; Junior Hannah Barber, Photography, First Place; Senior Alan Alimario, Music, First Place; Senior Alisandra Welch, Computer Art, First Place; Junior Kacey Glaspell, Computer Art, Second Place; Freshman Simon Nero, Computer Art, Third Place; Senior Emily Pietranton, Art, First Place; and Sophomore Eva Bowser, Art, Second Place.  The contest is held annually in conjunction with Catholic Schools Week. This year’s theme was “JESUS LOVES US. HOW DO WE SPREAD THAT LOVE?”, or  “HOW DO I PROMOTE PEACE IN THE WORLD”.  First place winners in all categories will be sent to the State round of competition.
