Madonna Senior, Montana Mascio,  has been announced as a National Merit Scholar Semifinalist. Montana achieved scores on the Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test that rank in the top one percent in the country.  According to a press release from the National Merit Scholarship Corporation, approximately 16,000 students from across the country have been names semifinalists.  Those semifinalists compete for approximately 8,000 National Merit Scholarships.  Montana joins fellow classmate Anna Westfall in achieving this honor.

As a member of the Class of 2015, Montana is considering attending the University of Pittsburgh and is planning on majoring in either chemical or petroleum engineering.  Montana is the daughter of Dr. Christopher and Dr. Dana Mascio.  She played two years of basketball for Madonna, was on the Madonna fall ball softball team, and has played spring softball at Madonna High School for the past three years.  She plans on continuing on the softball team  this coming spring of 2015.  Montana is also a member of the art club and science club.  Congratulations, Montana!
