Madonna Senior, Anna Westfall, has been announced as a National Merit Scholar Semifinalist. Anna achieved scores on the Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test that rank in the top one percent in the country. According to a press release from the National Merit Scholarship Corporation, approximately 16,000 students from across the country have been names semifinalists. Those semifinalists compete for approximately 8,000 National Merit Scholarships.
Anna is considering attending Fairmont State University to pursue a double major in Computer Science and Computer Security. She is hoping to win one of the National Merit Scholarships. She is the daughter of Rich and Jill Westfall and during her four years at Madonna High School has played soccer and has been a member of the Drama Club. She also plays on a local soccer travel team in the spring and indoor soccer during the winter months. Congratulations Anna!
