Chad Durante, a freshman at Madonna High School, has the distinct opportunity to represent Madonna High School and the state of West Virginia in Indianapolis, Indiana on April 15 and 16, for the American Legion Constitutional Oratorical Contest. To get to this point, Chad had to win both District, Sectionals, and state wide competition where he had to go up against other students from the state. He had to show his understanding of the Constitution of the United States of America by explaining its laws, meaning, and how it changed America. For winning state wide Chad has received a 4 year scholarship to a public college in West Virginia and if he wins National, 1st place wins 18,000, 2nd place is 16,000 and 3rd place is 14,000. Chat is the only freshman for West Virginia to go to Nationals.
